Promotional clothing should I consider it as part of my marketing mix? This is a question I am often asked when discussing their marketing mix with our clients. My usual reply is “why wouldn’t you”. Promotional clothing is clothing with your logo or message either printed or embroidered onto it. Unless your clients are the local nudist club then it is quite probable you will be wearing clothes to any meeting with your clients or contacts. As you have to have these clothes it makes sense to have them advertising your company while you are wearing them. When you are ordering your promotional clothing give a little thought to the message you want to convey. Your message should convey to the person looking at the decoration what it is you do, for instance if your company is called Southern Star, then having a logo with Southern Star on your promotional clothing does nothing to convey to others what it is you do. It is best to put your logo your name Southern Star and then if you are a web design company say that underneath, Southern Star Website Design. It is estimated that each day you wear your promotional clothing 11 new people will notice your brand, so if you are wearing your promotional shirt every day of the week (you might need to buy more than 1) that is around 2750 new brand impressions a year, for very little effort on your part.
