Create and use a Database The importance of creating a database of your clients and then maintaining your Database cannot be over emphasised. Indeed some businesses and organisations are of the opinion that the database of their clients is the most valuable of their assets. A Database can be a simple thing, you can use a spreadsheet in which you have your contacts details name, e-mail address, and telephone number. You can then expand on this as it grows, you can consider adding such things as what they have bought from you and when, their spouses name, their children birthdays, home address and any other info that can help you. Once you have your database you should try and utilise it and market to the people on it, at the very least, you should use the information on a regular basis to keep clients informed and up to date with any current offers you have. Whilst you can do this using the e-mail client on your computer (Such as Microsoft Outlook etc) you will get more value for your e-mail outs if you use a specialised e-mail newsletter platform.
